The Finance Manager will be a key business partner to the UK&I Operations Director and their teams, this role oversees all financial support for Equity store performance (except for Labour Costs) to inform and influence the operational decision-making process across c1500 Equity stores.

A bit about the role…
As Finance Manager, as well as managing at least 1 Region, this role will also lead and co-ordinate the activity across all 5 Regions, with the support of the 2 other Equity Finance Managers. In addition, this role will support the Head of Retail Finance as required, to ensure effective financial control is maintained across the UK&I element of Supply Chain and IT.
Lead overall budget and forecasting processes for all Equity stores and Controllable costs
Develop effective financial reporting capability and KPIs
Provide regular updates on financial performance, including insight into underlying drivers and required actions
Maintain a detailed understanding of financial risks, opportunities and mitigation options
Maintain financial control over all related P&L costs and investments
Appraise financial business cases for all investments and track delivery of benefits
Work with Retail teams and other internal teams as required e.g. Commercial Marketing, to identify best practice
Provide Finance support for ad hoc projects as required by the Operations Director UK&I and Head of Retail Finance
Lead and mentor one direct report

Financial qualification (ACCA/CIMA), with at least 3 years relevant post qualified experience
Strong experience and understanding of financial accounting and control requirements
Finance business partnering experience
Experience of working in a Finance team within a multi-site blue chip retailer / FMCG
Working in a fast paced, customer-facing organisation
Proven ability to lead a process and to influence cross functionally
Strong analytical and excel based modelling / reporting capability
Proven presentational skills at Director level, both written and verbal
Ability to demonstrate commercial acumen and decision making
Able to influence effectively at all levels up to UK&I Exec
Negotiation and conflict resolution skills
Proven ability to coach, lead and develop a small team
