IT Project Manager – UAE Nationals only 146 views

Role Purpose:

Responsible for coaching and coordinating Agile Delivery Squads to deliver as efficiently as possible.
At a team level, he is the central coordinator and fixer of all issues ensuring the Agile squad can deliver with minimal blockers.
Although not able to fix all issues he will co-ordinate and own their resolution within the team.
He must support the Product Owner in refining and grooming the Product Backlog to a level which is acceptable for the delivery squad to estimate and deliver.
He will co-ordinate and plan all Scrum ceremonies and ensure the Agile processes are being followed.
The Scrum Master or Project Manager ensures that the Scrum process is used as intended.
Keep the Development Team in alignment with the Scrum framework, values and principles, and ensure the team is focused on continuous improvement
Enforces daily builds to detect early issues in the compiled and aggregated code, as well as in the functionality delivered.
Facilitate Daily Scrums, Sprint Planning, Product Backlog refinement, Sprint Reviews, Sprint, Retrospectives, release planning, and other team activities as required
Encourage team self-organization & empowerment
Share new industry Agile best practices
Facilitate Retrospectives which generate new ideas for process improvement
Ensure preparation for planning through effective Product Backlog refinement sessions
Ensure planning meetings fully prepare the team for the upcoming Sprints and release
Actively remove impediments that slow any aspect of the Development Team’s efforts
Work closely with the Technical Delivery Manager, Program Manager, and Business Experts to ensure visibility and resolution of technical and business challenges
Actively participate in organizational Agile activities
Promote and support the Development Team’s automated processes
Assist the team in implementing the process improvements they’ve defined in the Sprint Retrospectives
Support the Product Owner in writing effective Product Backlog Items and maintaining the prioritized backlogs for multiple products as the Development Team’s provide estimates for the upcoming items
Assist the Product Owner in the Story refinement process
Develop and maintain relevant metrics that guide the Development Team to more efficient processes in their work and in satisfying their Product Owner and stakeholders.
Identify and manage dependencies with other internal or external teams
Work closely with Project Management to ensure proper project and portfolio reporting, including active risk management.

Key Accountabilities of the role:

Scrum/Agile Methodology

Facilitate Daily Scrums, Sprint Planning, Product Backlog refinement, Sprint Reviews, Sprint, Retrospectives, release planning, and other team activities as required
Support the Product Owner in writing effective Product Backlog Items and maintaining the prioritized backlogs for multiple products as the Development Team’s provide estimates for the upcoming items.
Ensure planning meetings fully prepare the team for the upcoming Sprints and release
Track, resolve and report incidents and known errors through the approved processes.

Communication

Attend all the team meetings, one to one meetings to have a high level of communication culture.
Timely response to email, tasks assigned and effective follow up with various stakeholders.
Prepare tasks status reports and submit to stakeholders on timely basis.

Specialist Skills / Technical Knowledge Required for this role:

Guiding the team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to delight customers
Guiding the team on how to get the most of our self-organization

Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information Excellent planner who can plan 2-3 steps ahead of the team and surface hidden risks 2-3 levels deep within the team
Ability to work at an abstract level and continuously ‘pivot’ to arrive at the highest impact answer for the client
Enjoys and gets energized by complex problem solving and ability to push the innovation on solutions
Ability to work under pressure, manage client expectations effective and not get overwhelmed by client pressures on team
Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior client business and IT executives on transforming towards agile
Excellent leadership skills and enjoys teaching / mentoring others.

Previous experience:

3+ years as a Scrum Master/Project lead/Project Manager working with dedicated agile teams using scrum or Kanban.
1+ year experience working with offshore teams/vendors.
Strong understanding and experience with software and product development especially in digital solutions.
Professional Certification in Scrum methodologies
Experienced and have practiced Scrum Master Methodologies and project management in Banking especially in alternative delivery channels domain
