The Remedial Manager manages the impaired asset portfolio by employing a variety of intensive remedial management and loan work out techniques to improve credit quality, maximize recoveries and reduce ultimate losses or costs to the Bank.

Ideal Profile:

Total of 7+ years of banking remedial/special asset management experience with strong financial restructuring exposure within a corporate banking environment.
Proficiency in English/Arabic – written and spoken is mandatory
University graduate in finance, business, accounting or similar majoring in economics.

Responsibilities

Proactively manage and follow up potential NPA/NPL and coordinate with Business Group for regularization of past dues.Deal with complex restructuring transactions including syndicated facilities.
Attend Joint Lenders Meetings and represent the Bank’s views at these forums.
Review standstill agreements in conjunction with legal department.
Develop strategies in conjunction with Business group, Risk and Legal to ensure maximum recovery of NPA/NPL.
Providing guidance to Remedial Officers in technical matters pertaining to their portfolios.
Maximize the NPV of recoveries at the minimum cost on impaired assets, while pro-actively managing exposures.
Evaluate, negotiate, recommend, implement and monitor workouts including legal action, debt settlements, asset swaps, and debt for equity swaps and disposals at best realizable values through private sale, public auction and secondary market trades.
Proactively manage high-risk loans, developing risk issues and changing credit needs through communication with HRM and other internal partners to restructure deals, remediate risks and minimize loss.
Manage all dealings internally and with clients in a manner consistent with the standards prescribed by CBI’s policies and procedures, including Reputation and Legal Risk, Anti-Money Laundering, Code of Conduct, Credit Management, etc.
Periodically review all WBG & Business Banking “WATCH” rated relationships and identify emerging risks to initiate mitigating strategies.
Determining appropriate workout strategies, which may involve loan modification and discounted pay-offs.
Review security documentation held.
Maintain close working liaison with WBG / Business Banking / Recovery / Legal / CRM.
