The purpose of the Job is to lead a team of Sr. Analyst and Analyst in assessing and evaluating risks emanating from various FI transactions. This will entail guiding a team of analyst in preparing credit application and obtaining credit approvals from appropriate credit approvals for FI client transactions.

Additionally, the role will assist Credit and Business leadership in determining the appropriate underwriting standards, as well as the potential concentration risk and offer strategic credit imperatives for the FI Business.

Credit responsibilities:

Possesses a level of independent expertise sufficient to fully authenticate debt capacity of different types of borrowers in the FI space by validating appropriate structure, deciphering both quantitative and qualitative levels of working capital, on and off balance sheet cushions of protection, individualized risk points within each borrowing relationship and appropriately focused assessment of risk as it relates to management depth and breadth as well as applicable industry and regulatory risk points.

Portfolio

Ensuring that all transaction are being monitored by analysts periodically for any issues

Policies

Continually ensure that best in class Credit Policies and Programs are in place
To ensure that risk rating policy is properly implemented and risk rating acceptably reflects the risk profile of the credit.

Process

Ensuring all credit application submitted by the team are of the acceptable standards and in line with the prescribed format
All waiver analysis / processing is being done on time in conjunction with the CIB teams.
Proactive monitoring of credits for early problem recognition.
Developing independent assessments of the appropriate risk rating for the reviewed clients and recording analyses and conclusions with recommendation to the Head
Ensures availability of required information to Credit Committee Members for credit decision making
Assist Risk department in various Central Bank reporting and Audit queries

People

Collaborate with key stakeholders (Coverage, Product and Risk) to ensure functioning of various tasks is conducted in a smooth and efficient manner.

Job Specific Accountabilities:

Aware of the developments in the structured finance world with constant updation of developments across various industries.
Demonstrate strong knowledge of structuring transactions with deep dive analysis of the risks.
Undertake ad-hoc projects or duties as assigned by Head of Department.
Monitor all key credit portfolio parameters periodically and ensure that the deviations of portfolio to the credit policies are minimal.
Monitor underwriting portfolio and periodically convene the underwriting portfolio meeting with the key stakeholders.
Advises CIB teams on risk factors associated with complex transactions and clauses imperative mitigating these.
Oversee due diligence process for prospective transaction and ensure emerging risk factors are appropriately addressed in the term sheet and credit application.
Participate in client meeting and provide guidance on key risk factors , acceptable structure and appropriate due diligence
Guides a team of analyst whereby the FI transaction are analysed appropriately in line with the credit policies and credit proposals are prepared to meet the internal standards.
Plan, anticipate and identify future capacity and skill needs of the department and pursue their fulfillment.
Cross-train and develop staff to achieve efficient resource utilization and deployment. Also, identify and retain key talent in the department

Skills And Qualification

Degree Business, Accounting, Finance or relevant discipline
10 years relevant experience in the banking sector with at least 3-5 years in similar positions of progressively increasing managerial responsibilities in the FI segment.
Proven financial analytical skills to identify and evaluate credit risks in transactions
Ability to work independently & is self-motivated
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Commercial aptitude, good at MS Excel, financial modelling, cash flow projections
Project management, problem solving and people skills
Strong experience working across teams to deliver consistent outcomes
Conceptual abilities and Leadership skills
UAE National preferred
Role based in Abu Dhabi only
