Job Summary

•Under the general guidance and supervision of the DOC and within the limits of hotel policies and procedures, effectively execute sales activities to maximize business opportunities in the corporate events, government events, social events, MICE, and Weddings.

Essential duties and responsibilities

• Ensure appropriate efforts are expanded on the solicitation and development local and international conference organizers and accounts defined in the assigned portfolios.
• Keeps a good record of top 30 accounts from the above sectors and establish business development plans for such top events and constantly solicit new business.
• To actively solicit new potential accounts within areas assigned.
• Engage with meeting planners in-house to maintain a good client relationship and to solicit for more future businesses.
• To participate actively in sales blitz as directed by Director of Catering.
• To be fully aware of the potential and buying decisions of all key accounts, competitive information on rates and volume to allow for specific strategic planning related to such accounts.
• Under the direction of Director of Catering analyze market changes and implement programme to meet the changes
• To ensure New World Petaling Jaya Hotel is preferred hotel for Corporate, Government, Social, MICE, Weddings events in Petaling Jaya. To convert businesses from Kuala Lumpur.
• Ensures that all site visits conducted and handled in the most professional manner and effectively.
• Full capable of making decisions on rate and function space block commitment through effective analysis programme history and hotel marketing strategy or budget.
• Ensure that one-stop shopping concept is applied at all times for any lead generated for event business.

Qualification Requirements

• Reading, writing and oral proficiency in English.
• Must have knowledge in performing the job task assigned to an Events Manager.
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule in order to accomplish all responsibilities and tasks.
• Must have a high degree of professional integrity and be able to work in prudent and organized manner.
